History of Keesee Ranch

Keesee Ranch is a well-established commercial and purebred operation located in Southeastern Okla. As the story has it, the ranch has a history of its own as it was passed down from generation to generation for the last 50 years. It was not until 2006 when current owner and herdsman, Cody Keesee, made his decision to continue the legacy and take over the family operation. Before owning a herd of his own, Cody worked for Griswold Cattle Company, based out of Stillwater, Okla., and ran a herd of cattle for GCC at his ranch in Holdenville, Okla. By 2010, Cody was ready to establish a name of his own and purchased his first set, 200 head, of northern commercial cattle.

Since then, Keesee Ranch has evolved into a 600 commercial and registered cow/calf operation, and runs 50 head of commercial bulls in Southeastern Okla. and Southern Kans. Basing their herd around top end genetics of Irish Whiskey, Meyer Ranch 734, Aberdeen and Ohlde Angus genetics, Keesee Ranch has raised tremendous cows and bulls that can excel in any operation. For the last 11 years, Keesee Ranch has used artificial insemination to maintain their moderately framed, excellent uddered, perfect teated females while keeping maternal traits in mind.

As the herd keeps growing, Cody’s childhood memories of showing his cattle nationally begin to prevail through the Keesee Ranch herd. With this drive, Cody has set a new standard of raising females who bring forth the extra show ring presences, but also have the power to develop into extraordinary cows for cattlemen of the real world.
